Today there are many atheistic writers who are promoting the idea that Christianity is primitive superstition. The basis for their belief is that there are no absolutes and certainly no moral ones. It is amazing that the ramblings and disjointed ideas of philosophers is well regarded more than the clarity of thought and reason found in Christianity. The basis for the rejection of Christianity is that Christianity stands principled on the fact of the existence of moral absolutes or standards. I was in a debate with someone who told me that there are absolutely no absolutes, which is an absolute, contradicting their own words. Here is an irrefutable absolute.
Every human being needs love.
No scientific data or philosophy can overthrow it. For the proof lies in the fact ones very essential mental, physical, and moral health are dependent upon it. Many may try and deny it but it is only one more sign that history is filled with the erosion, the long slow decline, of the character of God first infused in man. Humanity cannot live without love. This is a psychological and sociological fact. If this fact were not established by psychology or science just common sense innate in every human being would tell us that it’s true. We have left the tried and true domain of common sense for the convoluted ideas atheists call higher reason. That is why the common man is still a believer in God because the theories that atheists put forth seem foolish and out of touch with the realities of human life.
Love finds its origin in the mind of God and is the core belief of Christianity. This Christian ideal of love is equal to or greater than any scientific, philosophical, or psychological formed ideal of social engineering. The world is created around the principle of people loving God and one another. It is as essential to physical life as food and water yet it is spiritual in nature. It is proof mankind has a spiritual core. The physical body is the house for the soul.
The reason there is so much suffering in the world is the absence of love. It is a moral imperative a command from God to love one another. It is scientifically indisputable if there was more love in the world it would be a better place. Religion is not superstition but a help to the human conscience to do what is right. The purpose of religion is to returne people to God’s original intent when they have lost their way.
Two of the greatest definitions of love ever given were spoken by Jesus Christ. He said, “there is no greater love than to sacrifice your life for another.” Jesus also said, “do unto others as you would want others to do to you.” We love by abstaining from hurting others and by accepting and helping others even those different from ourselves. To say there are no absolutes is to be completely unscientific and that is superstition. Love has been proved over and over again to be the answer to the worlds problems and bringing integrity to every endeavor and sphere of human life. Love does not exploit or cheat. Love helps others to succeed and come to their full potential. Love does not use others.
The underlining problem is people do not like to be held accountable to these high standards. Yet for a standard to be valuable it must be high, fixed, and practiced. The other real problem lies in our accountability to the perfection of God and His standard. In order to destroy these standards religion and God must be demonized or ridiculed. In the end we all will suffer. Lets not destroy what is good but try and live up to the expectations religion brings to the betterment of us all.

I was comforting a dear friend of mine concerning the death of someone who was close to him. It is at times like these we all think about the things that really matter. I have come to this one very important fact, life is not worth living without really knowing God and having a relationship with Him. We treat God like He is not even worth knowing. If He is the center of the universe we have neglected the most important relationship of all. Here is what I wrote my dear friend.
As you know I love to cook for people. I enjoy watching others enjoy themselves while eating something I lovingly prepared for them. The other day I was cooking something. I could not get it right I knew it was missing an ingredient. I kept tasting it. It was not salt or pepper or something simple it needed a key ingredient to make it uniquely different and satisfying. I found that missing ingredient and it made all the difference in the world. My friend, so may people want the most out of life but can never quite figure out what’s missing. People will try all kinds of things and many will almost kill themselves but never discover the one thing that will really make their lives unique and satisfying.
My friend that missing ingredient is God. I am a pastor and putting the missing (God) ingredient in peoples lives is my mission in life and I believe to some extent all of ours. Please forward to as many people as possible allow the good news to encourage all you know.
